What we collect and why
Our general rule is to collect what we need to run the product.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, login method, and account settings. We use this to authenticate you, secure your account, and provide the service.
Uploaded files and transcript data
When you upload an audio or video file, we store and process that file to generate a transcript.
We also store generated transcripts, segments, speaker labels, timestamps, edits, exports, and related metadata so you can access, edit, organise, and export your transcripts later.
Usage information
We collect product usage information needed to operate the service. This may include transcription usage, job status, service interaction data, and information required to enforce usage limits or subscription entitlements.
Payment information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are handled by our payment processor. We receive subscription status, payment status, billing identifiers, and related provider IDs. We do not store your payment data.
Technical and security information
We may collect IP address, request metadata, logs, and similar technical information for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, debugging, and service reliability.
Support and feedback
If you contact us for support or send feedback, we may store your message and contact details so we can respond and keep a record of the conversation.
How transcription processing works
When you upload a file, NoFuss Transcriber processes it to generate a transcript. This processing involves third-party infrastructure. Uploaded files and transcript data are used to provide the service to you.
How we use information
We use information to provide transcription and transcript management features, process uploads and exports, authenticate users, secure accounts, enforce usage limits, manage subscriptions, send transactional emails, detect abuse or errors, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.
Transactional emails may include verification emails, password reset emails, subscription emails, and transcript completion notifications.
Storage and retention
Uploaded files and transcript-related data are stored so you can access and use the service.
You can delete transcripts and jobs from your account. When you delete content, it will no longer be available through your account. Some data may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or operational systems before routine deletion.
If you cancel a paid subscription, your account may continue on a free tier unless you delete your account.
Who can access your data
Your transcript data is account-scoped by default.
We restrict internal access to what is necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. We do not manually review transcript content.
We may disclose information if required by law or legal process.
Shared transcript links
If you create a share link, anyone with that link may be able to access the shared transcript view. You are responsible for managing and sharing links carefully.
Third-party service providers
We use third-party providers to run NoFuss Transcriber. These providers process data on our behalf as needed to deliver their services.
Cookies and session technologies
We use cookies or similar technologies required for authentication, session continuity, security, and core product functionality. Disabling certain cookies may affect how the service works.
How we secure your data
All data is encrypted via HTTPS/SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict certain uses of your personal information. To make a request, contact us at the email below.
Children's privacy
NoFuss Transcriber is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. These countries may have different data protection laws. Where required, we apply safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. We may provide additional notice for material changes.
